For 2003, 17-inch wheels are standard, replacing the 16-inchers. The climate control front seats and park-assist feature, formerly included only with the Ultra Luxury or Custom Luxury packages, are now available as stand-alone options. Finally, base cars ordered with the climate control front seats now feature perforated leather trim throughout.

- Not quite as athletic as its competitors, adding options raises the price to un-Lexuslike levels.

By J McKay - March 26 - 2:00 amOther than the bland exterior design that one would think should only be driven by a long term member of the AARP this car is as close to driving perfection as is out on the roads at this time. It is a pleasure to drive with performance and reliability in abundance. You have to love it!

Saved my life - 2003 Lexus LS 430

I rolled down a 20 foot embankment and took out 25 feet of concrete fence. I broke a finger nail and have bruises and a deep laceration on my right arm. A large animal ran out in front of me at night on a rural road. Instead of hitting it I swerved.

Felt stupid within a week that I plunked 20k more for a less competent S 500. Double the fun, One third the price. Better everything than the Benz. Ok the Benz has 1 inch of extra leg room. I am any day willing to sacrifice 1 inch and putting 25000 in the bank and having a better riding, quieter and flawless car than showing th 3 pointed star and coughing up 25k more. rattle( yes the benz rattles far more than the LS 430) Lexus, u finally nailed Benz in their own game.

By Ed Howard - April 2 - 7:43 pmThis is the most quiet vehicle I have ever been in. Not good in snow because of the rear wheel drive. Other than snow the handling is excellent. The controls should be simplified. My wife hates the confusion which is OK with me as she prefers to drive the Ford Explorer! I just replaced the brakes, rotors and tires. This is the first money spent in the 2 years I owned the car.

Responsive steering that lets you know about the raod surface. Wonderful suspension with the eurotuned version. Grand sound system (the Levinson).
